Dr. Holly Horikawa received her B.S. in BioKinesiology from Chapman University in 2001 and continued on to Duke University where she graduated in 2005, with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
After a year and a half in pediatrics, Holly moved on to her true passion, Women’s Health. Holly has been practicing within the specialty since 2006, and has morphed traditional physical therapy with other modalities like visceral and neural manipulation to more effectively treat the whole person. She was formerly lead therapist and director of cancer & breast therapies at Womanology + Restore Him in Irvine. During this time, Holly completed various pelvic health related continuing education courses and also completed over 150 hours of training to become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Holly also started a Mastitis Treatment Program for nursing mothers struggling with blocked ducts, low milk supply, and breast infection. Holly has provided various educational lectures for Physicians and the community regarding pelvic physical therapy, breast health & wellness, and physical therapy following cancer treatments. She is also resident therapist of the OC Chronic Pelvic Pain Support Group hosted at Lokahi Physical Therapy.
Holly is passionate about providing compassionate, quality care to her patients. She strives to stay informed of new studies, treatment options, and techniques to provide the most up-to-date and comprehensive care. She believes that establishing rapport with her patients and addressing the psychological aspect of their symptoms is just as important in the healing process as the actual hands-on treatment.
